Hunting Rules
All the rules, whether written or verbally communicated, must be followed to ensure an enjoyable stay to all visitors and staff and to protect the fauna and flora.
Right of admission strictly reserved. Please let the manager know on the day of arrival of your arrival time, amount of people and vehicles. You will have to sign in at the security gate.
Minimum 4 hunters, maximum 12 hunters per weekend.
Speed limit 30km/h through the orchards.
Make sure all gates are closed entering and on exit.
No dogs allowed.
No hunting without a guide or PH.
All firearms must be on safety on all vehicles and in and around the lodge.
Minimum caliber .243 and .270.
Guide, slaughter and cold room included.
All hunters and guests enter the premises and use the facilities at their own risk. Bosbok Lodge will not be held responsible for any loss, damage or harm, to persons or property, or any costs associated thereto.
Each hunter must have his own firearm as well as a valid firearm license, to be shown upon request. Firearms can be arranged, speak to the manager 5 days before arrival.
No loaded firearms allowed within the confines of the lodge.
All firearms will be locked in the safe when not hunting by the owner of Bosbok Lodge.
All hunters must be able to hit a target from at least 200m consistently with their own firearm before they will be allowed to hunt on the property.
In the case where an animal is wounded, all hunting will be ceased until the animal has been located at an additional rate of R250/hour, maximum of three hours where after normal hunting will continue. If the animal can not be located, the full price for that animal will be included on the invoice.
Shots may only be fired in the direction indicated by the manager of Bosbok Lodge. The property is surrounded by a citrus farm, and as such only specific directions may be fired in.
No alcohol allowed on hunting expeditions. The manager of Bosbok Lodge has the right to deny any person whom he believes to be under the influence of alcohol/illegal substances the right to hunt and may request such a person to vacate the property all together.
Any damage to property of Bosbok Lodge will be charged to the offending party’s invoice.
Any damage to the chalets will carry a minimum fee of R1,500.00.
Only game that was arranged for will be hunted. Any game shot that was not arranged for, be it on purpose or by accident, will carry a 100% mark-up on quoted prices.
Indemnities of all hunters in the hunting party must be submitted and half of the accommodation fees must be paid in order to secure booking.
All outstanding amounts must be settled before departure.
All prices are EXCLUDING VAT.
Hunting will only take place in hunting season, i.e. April – October, except with prior arrangements. All hunting will be on foot unless arrangements was made with the manager.
All food and drinks are self-catering. The chef is included and he can prepare breakfast, lunch packs and side dishes for dinner. Please arrange if you want him to braai your meat.
There is enough wood for cooking food and a fire. After the wood put out for the day is finished additional packs can be bought from the manger @ R20.
There is a box freezer for ice, please bring your own or arrange prior to your arrival with the manager.
The Chalets and kitchen is fully equipped, please use the towels at the pool for swimming.
Please do not harm any trees or other fauna and flora.
Fishing and walking on the dam wall is at our own risk. Be aware of the danger of Hippopotamus especially if they have babies and between sunrise and sunset.
Fishing is allowed provided all fish except Baber is released.
Only lodge vehicle is allowed in the veld unless arranged with manager beforehand and will do all drop off and pick up.
